Oranjebloesem 2017 will take place on Kingsday, April 27th. 12.00 until 20:00h. Doors will open at 11.30, and the music will stop at 20:00. Come early if you don’t want to stand in line!
On a beautiful peninsula with a stunning view lies Blijburg Aan Zee, the most idyllic city beach of Amsterdam. Oranjebloesem will take place again on the 27th April at this unique location for the third year running. Later in this FAQ you can find all relevant info regarding how to reach Blijburg.
There are multiple bars spread across the terrain where you can buy both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There will also be foodtrucks with a wide assortment of tasty and healthy food - including vegetarian options. You’re not permitted to bring your own food and drinks.
Tap water is available for free at specific points on the terrain.
If you have specific dietary requirements, and therefore need to bring certain food or drink, please bring a doctor’s note or something similar to apply for an exemption at the door.
Oranjebloesem festival has a minimum age of 18 years old.
We have e-lockers (medium and large sized) at Oranjebloesem available. This means you’ll receive a code instead of a key, and you don’t have to pay a deposit.
You can buy a locker in advance online at the ticketshop, so you don’t have to wait in line at the festival. You’ll receive your locker number and code via e-mail just before the event instead.

The medium sized locker costs €7 (2 to 3 coats) and are 25cm wide, 24.5 cm high and 50cm deep.
The large sized lockers costs €9 (4 to 5 coats) and are 25cm wide, 33,5 cm high and 50cm deep.
Two of the big stages are completely covered with tents. Whatever the weather gods may grace us with - bright sun or rain - you have the option to stand under cover and out of the wind.
Celebrate happiness but do so safely. There are many beautiful sounds to listen to, but be careful when listening to anything above 87 dB. Bring your own (hearing-) protection. You didn’t? Smoking is not allowed in the tents or under roofs. Please go outside before you light up your cigarette. Please do not throw away cigarette buds in the sand, this damages the environment. Use the provided trash cans.
You need to be 18 years or older to visit Oranjebloesem. Please bring a valid form of ID.
Cooperating with security checks at the entrance is mandatory.
Please mind your belongings and store valuables. Pick pockets may be on the prowl.
Look sharp. By entering the festival you give us permission to photograph and film you, and to use any material made as we please.
Follow any instructions given to you by security or staff at all times.
Be careful! The organisation is not liable for any damage or injury - unless it’s the direct result of gross negligence.
By entering the event you automatically agree to stick to these rules.
In any dispute that causes discussion that is not mentioned here or elsewhere in the FAQ, the organisation will make the final call.
Bringing your own drinks, food, glass, cans, plastic bottles, aerosols, fireworks and pets is prohibited.
Weapons and other dangerous items are prohibited.
Physical violence, discrimination and intimidating behaviour, harassment and/or other offensive behaviour is prohibited and will not be tolerated.
Clothing with provocative and offensive prints are prohibited.
You can’t leave and re-enter the event during show.
Hard drugs are not allowed on the festival. You can bring softdrugs up to 5 grams, no pre-rolled joints.
If you bring medication, please bring a doctor’s note or something similar to apply for an exemption at the door.
Watch out for pick pockets – they are very active during King’s Day! Got pickpocketed or saw something happen? Call the emergency number: 112.
Please take care of your ears! With music above 87 dB it is smart to use earplugs with a special music filter. With these earplugs you can still hear the music perfectly, conversations remain intelligible and most important of all, you prevent hearing damage and the annoying ringing after the event. In addition the Alpine PartyPlug earplugs are super comfortable. During Oranjebloesem Alpine PartyPlug earplugs will be available at all the cash desks. The PartyPlug earplugs are reusable, so you can protect your ears not only at naam evenement but on other festivals as well. Love your ears!
Blijburg aan Zee is a city beach and unfortunately not easily accessible with wheelchairs. With a specific beach wheelchair the whole terrain is accessible. There is also a disabled toilet.
Lost something? Our partner iLost collects all the lost items. Check their website after the event to see if we’ve found something that belongs to you. Contacting the organisation or Blijburg aan Zee is pointless.
Tickets are available for purchase on the website. IMPORTANT: there is no door sale during King’s Day. Buy your tickets in advance!

Nachtbloesem, Oranjebloesem’s official afterparty takes place at Het Sieraad, from 20.00 – 05.00 h. Tickets are available on the website.
There will be shuttle busses between Amsterdam Central Station and the festival site all day long.
The buses leave from De Ruyterkade 106. Follow the signs at the backside (north) of Amsterdam Central Station or use Google Maps.
You can buy your bus ticket from crew members in recognisable clothes, who are standing at the back of the station and on the way to the departure location. A ticket costs €5 (back and forth), cash only.

Make sure you have enough credit on your public transport chip card, also for your return trip.
You can easily get to Blijburg beach by bike. Cycle from Amsterdam over the Schellingwoudebrug (via North) or the Amsterdam bridge (via East) and follow the signs to ‘IJburg’. From Amsterdam Central Station it takes about 40 minutes by bike.
You are not allowed to park at Blijburg or the surrounding district. We advise visitors to come by public transport. If this is not an option, you can park at the Oosterdokssgarage (Oosterdoksstraat 150). From here you can take the shuttle bus and you’ll be at the festival in 15 minutes.
Kiss & Ride: Follow the A10 eastbound until you reach exit S114 (Artis - IJburg). Keep following the signs IJburg until you can follow signs that say Strand (beach). This will lead you to the Pampuslaan and at its end you will find Blijburg. People can be dropped off at the taxi point.

In our permit are strict noise regulations, which will be monitored by both the festival organisation and the municipality. Music will start playing at 12:00, however soundchecks might occur beforehand.
